Hi Reader, I’ve just returned from several weeks in France and India. Travel gives us so much: unfamiliar places, local food, different ways of moving through the day, and the chance to see our own lives from a little farther away. It also takes us away from the routines that quietly hold us together. Sleep changes. Meals happen at different times, sometimes when we aren’t hungry. Digestion becomes less predictable. There’s more stimulation and often less privacy. Even a wonderful trip can leave the body asking for something simple and familiar. I stayed in a tiny village about 40 minutes outside Thrissur, in the lush, tropical state of Kerala. This was the local fruit stand, with its abundance of fresh fruit and the green vegetation that seemed to be everywhere. This shop made me smile. What looked like a hardware store seemed to have just about everything: tools, fabric, clothing, even skateboards. I loved the practicality of it all. Why go to several stores when you can find so much in one place? One of the things I appreciate most about Ayurveda is that it teaches us to notice. Rather than judge every change or immediately create a complicated plan, we learn to recognize what is happening and respond with a little more understanding. Sometimes the response is a warm meal. Sometimes it’s an earlier bedtime, a quieter morning, a different way of exercising, or simply eating lunch before we become depleted. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing a clearer, more accessible way to receive Ayurvedic care from me, either online or in person. It’s designed for people who are curious about Ayurveda but aren’t sure where to begin, as well as those who want more consistent, individualized support. For today, you might simply ask yourself: What in my life feels a little out of rhythm right now? It could be your sleep, digestion, energy, daily routine, or something else entirely. You don’t have to figure out how to change it just yet. Simply noticing is a good place to begin. Warmly, Marisa P.S. I’ll also be sharing more from France and India in upcoming Weekly Musings. There’s a great deal I want to share with you! |

Hi Reader, One of the things I’ve loved about being in Kerala is how much there is to notice when you slow down. Kerala Backwaters. Sometimes the reflection show us what we might otherwise have missed. Recently, I spent a morning traveling through the backwaters, surrounded by coconut palms, lotus flowers, small boats, homes, birds, and, of course, water. At one point I looked across the water and realized I was seeing two landscapes at once. There was the world above—the palms, the boats,...
